From children's book legend Judith Viorst comes the perennially popular tale of Alexander's worst day. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a story that belongs on every child's bookshelf. Alexander could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. He went to sleep with gum in his mouth and woke up with gum in his hair. When he got out of bed, he tripped over his skateboard and by mistake dropped his sweater in the sink while the water was running. He could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Nothing at all was right. Everything went wrong, right down to lima beans for supper and kissing on TV. What do you do on a day like that? Well, you may think about going to Australia. You may also be glad to find that some days are like that for other people too.

An absolute must for every child!

I have loved this book since I was a kid and I got each of my kids a copy. Perfect message how things don't always go your way and thats ok, with a little humor. ❤️

This is the worst Alexander title book ever.

To the Barnes and Noble company and book readers. I have read this book in the 1990s and it was horrible, and I never touched it again. I remember reading this awful picture book and it made me feel bad. I don't like the negative title in the book which is not appropriate for kids. I don't like that it focuses on the negative. I didn't like how whiny Alexander is and I didn't like that his brothers were mean to him and bullied him and got him to fight his brother and his mother and father were both mean to him and they favored his brothers instead of looking out for him. There were no happy moments, the conflict never got resolved, and I didn't like the horrible ending. I'm embarrassed by Judith Viorst Alexanders very bad day book and the story she wrote, and I don't want her autograph. I'm surprised and disappointed the Disney company decided to make a 2014 movie of it which I didn't like. I hope this awful depressing book gets discontinued and goes out of print which it deserves. It is not worth the money, you're better off reading Dr. Seuss, Little Critter, The Berenstain Bears, Richard Scarry books instead.

Funny and insightful

This book is great for kids and adults. Alexander's plight is one we all share from time to time. I read it often with my kids and read it myself as well when I'm having one of those days!

Bad day for Alexander

I listened to this on YouTube and I thought it was pretty good. I recommend this. It's really funny that Alexander wants to move to Australia. I think it is a great story for anyone and I think it would be really good as a gift. There are also other Alexander books, so if you like this, you can always read those.
