Weird design, falls off foot

I really wanted to like this shoe, and saw mixed reviews so took a chance. The leather was soft, color was a good neutral tan, it was a low, but pretty height, and it had a good padded footbed. BUT... as a few others mentioned, the 'V' opening at the top of the foot caused me to literally walk right out of the shoe when I took my first step—I almost tripped over the loose shoe! I guess it depends on your foot shape--I have a high arch. For me, the V was so deep and low on the toe area, that there was no leather ‘band’ portion to secure my foot. Looks good if you are standing still, but the ‘V’ acts as a release for the entire weight of the shoe’s back half. I don't know how this passed any sort of design testing on a real moving foot.
