What happened to Bruno Magli?

I wore Bruno Magli shoes for years and loved the quality and fit. Their styles changed and I stopped buying. Now I have seen some fresher styles and I purchased two pair--one similar to this style without the heel. There is nothing to distinguish this shoe from Franco Sarto or any other shoe. The leather doesn't say quality and the fit is poor. Both shoes are 7.5. One pair was loose, but fit. The other pair was a full half size smaller and I held the shoes together -- heel to toe and, yes, a full size smaller. Of the shoes that fit loose, the R shoe was smaller and the L shoe was larger. What happened to quality control. Tory Burch shoes are so much better and I won't be trying this brand again.
