Great Flatware

Incredibly Dull Blades

I have a set of Laguiole steak knives that is six years old and we use them all of the time. My family loves them. Two years ago 3 of our 8 knives went missing (that's another story). So we have used the remaining 5 knives on a daily basis but I always wanted to replace the missing knives. I purchased this set a few weeks ago. They look exactly like my knives except they have 'French Home' engraved on the blade and the black handle has some streaks of white in it. My husband was the first to use the new knife to slice a tomato...the tomato was squishing because the blade would not easily cut through. Then I noticed that everyone was 'avoiding' the new knives and using the 5 original knives (daily...as always). My husband used one of the new knives today to cut a few slices from an onion for a sandwich...it was a struggle...it was almost comical watching him...onion juice all over and a few broken shreds of onion. We have used our original set of Laguiole steak knives for meat, as well as tomatoes and onions for sandwiches...for years. They are wonderful. These French Home Laguiole steak knives are, without doubt, the dullest knives I have ever seen. Don't waste your time or money on these.
