Totem is an award-winning design that combines all your waste and recycling in one compact unit. It features two compartments arranged vertically, which saves space and makes them very easy to fill and empty. Each compartment has a removable bucket that can be fitted with a single standard liner for general waste or two smaller bags, using the integrated bag hooks, for separating different types of recycling. Breather vents in the bucket sides make removing a full liner easier. Totem also features a ventilated odor filter in the main lid that helps reduce moisture and odor build up from waste. The design comes with a 3-liter (0.8 US Gallon) removable food waste caddy that can be stored in either compartment, or on the worktop.

In love with a trash can.

I have never before loved a trashcan, but I LOVE this “waste separation and recycling unit.” I had a trashcan. There were no dents, no rust, no bad smells, but I’ve had my eye on the Totem for a while and decided to buy it. It is helping me keep my kitchen so much neater! First, because it’s so beautiful I am able to move it into a more central location in the kitchen. And it makes it a little handier to throw out the trash. Second, there was constantly something to recycle sitting on our counter or next to the trashcan, waiting to go out to the garage. It seems like as soon as we brought out the recycling, there would be something else to recycle. With the Totem, it goes directly into the bin. There are also small holes in both bins to help the bag slide out easier, and it really does help! I told my husband I love him more than the trashcan and since I’ve been raving about it ever since I got it, he genuinely felt flattered. LOL.

Disappointed

This was a replacement for my original Totem which is around 6 years old. Really disappointed with the quality of this bin compared to my original. The plastic bin inserts and food caddy are much thinner in comparison and the bin lid feels less substance. Annoyingly it opens too far back so I can't get the bin flush with my kitchen unit so takes up more room. It also makes the bin 'walk' forward. I cants get the lid for the caddy to sit on the side of the bin when I'm using it so it frequently falls into the rubbish!

Definitely Buy Again

Love it its the best bin I have ever had. Great idea I can now put recycling in a bin within the utility instead of taking outside all the time to the bin. Takes up no more space than a normal bin. Brill idea Joseph

Very useful

This recycling bin was to replace my previous Joseph Joseph one . The new one fits perfectly beside my general rubbish bin. It’s neat, smart and does the job well. With two separate parts I can put different types of recycling in each

Perfect size and preference for each

Love this design. Top trash and bottom for recycle. We were looking for a high trash can with smaller capacity to prevent pets from getting to. This was perfect since we don't like big size trash bins. The design of the portable separate food waste is great too.

Absolutely love this thing!

This separation unit is awesome, I no longer have recyclable things by the trash can and don’t have to deal with a separate bin. Makes waste management streamlined and it’s a actually a beautifully designed unit too. In addition my 2 year old knows the difference between recycling and regular trash thanks to this thing.
