Combo friends to lovers and second chance romance

I binged this friends-to-lovers romance in a day. Poppy and Alex had chemistry, funny banter, and genuine affection. The combination of current timeline and flashbacks teased out their story at a good pace. I enjoyed seeing them take steps toward reconciliation without a lot of miscommunication or secrets. There were valid issues getting in the way of them being together but they steadily worked through their feelings, goals, and baggage—even if that meant two steps forward, one step back.

My favorite romance book

I loved this book so freaking much. I don’t know why I didn’t pick it up sooner, probably because of all the back-and-forth debate on it. For me, though, the book made me smile from ear to ear and had some good lol moments! Also, a point for including a reader's guide!

Good book so far

It’s a good book so far! I’m rating it 2 stars because I’m missing 20+ pages. I was reading page 88 and then it jumps to 249 and keeps going back and forth with page numbers.

Not the best

I wasn't a big fan of this book. Emily Henry's other books are much better.

A Hot Summer Romance

Alex is officially my Man Crush Monday while Poppy is the fictional character I would love to be BFFs with. Their grumpy sunshine energy had be racing through this book to see what would happen next. Alex & Poppy have been traveling the world, just as friends, for so long that when things finally bubble over they don’t know what to do. The book jumps you from their past adventures to their present vacation debacle in Palm Springs. Poppy is trying desperately to repair her relationship with Alex, all while everything that can does go wrong on their desert adventure. Meanwhile, you get to back-seat witness how their relationship and chemistry has grown over the years with flashbacks to past trips & adventures. This adorable rom-com will have you itching to book your next trip with your bestie….preferably male…preferably bookish & grumpy…preferably a tall dark a broody male named Alex.

Great Read

I'd give this book a 3.5, and is still an amazing read of mine! I just couldn't get into it as much as the other Emily Henry books I've read. I would still 100% recommend it to other as it is still a great read.

A lot of the book could have been left out

I had a hard time getting into this book. The premise is very interesting and has potential but the book is a slow read. The timeline is also confusing early on. In some scenes there was an unnecessary amount of detail about unimportant things. The last 50 pages was the best part of the whole book.
