This was my first book into adulthood and I am distraught that it had to end. Everything about this book screamed grown, sexy, funny, and real. Tia Williams completely outdid herself writing this. I am so glad to bring my twenties in with such a heart touching, soul striking novel. I was so invested that I read the book in 3 days. By far the best book I’ve read and I will keep it forever. Can’t wait for a movie, hopefully ;).
A very addicting novel!
'Seven Days in June' was truly a heartfelt, steamy novel! We follow two famous writers, Eva and Shane, over the course of a week as they try to navigate deep seeded feelings wrapped into a rivalry. We also travel back in time to their teen years, as they have a passionate fling during one week in June. I can feel Shane and Eva's passion and resistance throughout the book, as their strong romantic feelings are still present. They each have their own insecurities to battle with, yet they compliment each other beautifully. This book flipped between two timelines, both lasting a span of a week, and I loved every moment of it! Thank you Grand Central Publishing for the gifted paperback copy.

Amazing book
If you love love or if you’re into romance this book is definitely the one. I could not put the book down. I read it one setting. The author did what needed to be done.

It’s more than a romance
4/5 Stars 2/5 Steam Rating *Alternating 3rd POV; BIPOC & Chronic Pain Rep; Check Triggers/Content Warnings I’ve heard such great things about this book and I’m so glad that I was finally able to pick it up. I went into this thinking it would be a bit more of a romance story than it ended up being. Yes, there’s a romance element to this story, but it read a bit more like women’s fiction. This is a raw & emotional story of the seven days Eva & Shane spent together as teenagers, which had a lifelong impact on both of them. I loved all the representation within this book, especially the chronic illness representation. This is a large part of Eva’s story, but never once did it feel it in a “woe is me” kind of way, instead it was just something that she had to learn to live with. If it up to me, I would have changed two things. First, I wish that we kept to just Eva & Shane’s POV. I didn’t feel like the pother perspectives were really needed and only diluted their story a bit. Second, I wish that the author would have made the epilogue as another chapter and gave us a shorter epilogue to close out Eva & Shane’s story. In the grand scheme of things, these are small adjustments but they’re what prevented it from being a 5star book for me.
Emotionally Heavy
Gripping and emotionally messy and beautiful. Seven Days in June when they fell in love, lost each other and 15 years to find each other again. Genevieve “Eva” Mercy is an erotic fantasy writer of witches and vampires with a huge social media fan base. Shane Hall is an award-winning writer, mysterious to his fans and public. Both are broken, flawed and in pain. Shane drowns out the pain in a bottle of alcohol and letting people beat him up or purposely breaking his arm. Genevieve abuses drugs and cuts herself to get through the pain. The two meet in HS, collide and love. Promises are made and broken. Years later the truth is revealed but can they trust the other, trust the love that won’t die and learn how to move forward. Loved the “Dream House” love scene which had me grinning like a fool. Loved Audre, who is truly a gem of a daughter and so insightful for a tween. Definitely following this author, Tia Williams and can’t wait to read everything she has written.

One of the best books I've ever read
“‘History doesn’t repeat itself’, said Shane. ‘But it rhymes.’” “‘Stop writing about me’… ‘You first.’” Eva Mercy is a bestselling author of paranormal erotica. Shane Hall is known for writing powerful literary masterpieces about a teen girl named Eight. The two unexpectedly reconnect at a literary event in New York and embers they thought had gone out erupt into flames. Unbeknownst to their die-hard fans, Shane and Eva spent a tumultuous seven days together as teens that changed both their lives forever. Now adults, the two have the next seven days to decide if love can come back around or if they missed their chance. Eva and Shane have one of the best love stories I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. Tia Williams has a command of language that will break your heart and leave you begging for more. I have never found myself rooting for a couple more than I did for Eva and Shane. Eva’s daughter Audre is a 12-year-old precocious joy to read and Eva’s closest friends Cece and Belinda provide the much-needed sense the heroine in a romance story always needs. This story is sensual, joyful, and heartbreaking in the best way possible.
