I love it!

I had wanted a Staub cocotte for a long time, and bought a beautiful grenadine colored one during their sale last November. It is every bit as great as I expected. I've cooked stews, cobblers, roasts, chickens, soups. If anything sticks (and so far only peach cobbler have done so), I let it soak for a little while and it washes right out, no scrubbing or hard work involved. I only wish I had bought it sooner.

A perfect size

This functions as well as larger sizes of the cocotte and is very useful when making food in smaller quantities.

Great pot ever!!

4-q round black round mat is my first Staub and I am so happy to write a review. First of all, the feature is awesome. It looks very modern with my new kitchen. Second, it works excellently. I usually use this pot for making stew and soup. It boils very fast and keep the moisture from ingredients. Eventually, I add less water than I have usual. It is perfect size for dinner for 4. It is easy to clean, once I clean it with warm water and dry it through heat. Last thing is good for oven boiling. Sizzling chickens and put it right into oven and I get perfect chicken dinner. After this purchase, I got a fry pan and a wok. They are also my favorite.

Great Cookware beats Le Creuset

I have owned my cherry red 4 qt since 2015, and I absolutely love it. It is the most used pot in my home. Whether cooking a pot of stew or making a small pot of stock this oven is great. I had owned LC, but got rid of it after purchasing my Staub oven. Clean up is a breeze and the finish is just fantastic.

Never Go Wrong With Staub

I had only All Clad in my kitchen and always had eyes on French oven. Be honest, I was looking at LC at the beginning until my cooking class instructor recommended Staub to me. So, I decided to get only 1, the 4 qt shallow oval in grenadine for pot roast and beef stew, absolutely greatest cookware I've ever tried. So, the crave didn't stop there. I kept getting more: 2.75 qt in grey, 5.5 qt in blue, steam grill in black...I decided to give away my 4-qt oval, so I wanted a 4-qt round cocotte to replace it. This's when my round 4-qt basil coming. I actually use it more often than others due to the size. I got all my Staub from Bloomingdales when they had special sales. Believe me, I got all of my stuffs at super low price (from $70-$150). My last piece was 10" fry pan in white. I told myself to stop, but deep inside, I want another piece at least: 7-qt round cocotte in cherry red. Yup...I really mean it. Once you go Staub, you never go back.

I'm on #4

After much research, I was very excited to try this product. I purchased the black matte, 4 quart cocotte on 11-28-2016. It arrived with chips along the rim of both the lid & the pot. First replacement arrived 1 week later - same issue. Second replacement 10 days later - same result. Today, I received my FOURTH pot and it's even worse. It will be shipped back on Tuesday. If that's Staub's version of "excellent quality," I'd hate to see what they consider to be sub par. It's very disappointing to see poor workmanship being called flawless.
