I bought this book for a few reasons it is usually censored for the violence and animal cruelty within the book , Its about a point in history I find interesting and the author is well known for his works. This book does contain violence and animal cruelty however I don't believe it should be censored because of it.Though it still contains violence and cruelty so if you don't wish to read that I wouldn't recommend the book.some people say Jack London's writing is boring I would not say it is boring however it is very cut and clear. He doesn't include the flowery detailed language of some authors and that is personally ok with myself. In the pictures I have attached I have included a picture of one of the first few pages and the cover from all angles. The spacing is larger than alot of books because it's usually meant for children 8-12 to read (at least according to Google) however with my poorly vision I find it useful. The book also contains pictures every couple of pages sometimes covering a full page or taking up part of the page. I know some don't like pictures in their books so I add that just in case anyone isn't aware. At the Barnes and nobles I went to they were wrapped in plastic so I'm trying to be as detailed as possible for those who may need it. Overall I find it a good book. It isn't my favorite book of all time but it is a good book that is fairly short and easy to read. I hope this could be useful to anyone else interested in this book :)

Not worth the hype
Needing a specific kind of book for a reading challenge recently, I settled on this one as my pick for the month. I was excited; I’ve been interested in Jack London’s books for a long time, but this was the first time I ever actually picked any of them up. Unfortunately, it wasn’t really to my taste. I was disappointed by how much evolution was brought into the story, and some of the scenes didn’t feel particularly realistic, which was sad. There was also quite a bit of violence in these pages, plus what felt like glorification of the “primordial longings” the main character experienced. There were things to enjoy in the story; I found the history side fascinating (aside from the despicable abuse and violence!), and since I haven’t read much about the Klondike Gold Rush, I appreciated that part. It was a well-written story, and I think I would have enjoyed the writing style had not other things bugged me. Overall, it wasn’t a horrible book, but it’s not one I’m planning to keep on my shelf or recommend to others.
