Perfect Size

I bought this as a present for a family member and he really likes the coverage it gives as well as the snappy opening mechanism. It’s also the perfect size (not too small or oversized).

Poor Workmanship Compared To Years Ago

I have used my Totes Umbrella for decades. It was finally time for a new one when a tear in the nylon began to show. Needless to say, there are signs of poor workmanship in design and construction. There are plastic ribs being used as opposed to an all-metal frame. My former umbrella opened automatically, with a manual close. The new one opens and closes automatically, which was a plus. However, the closing orientation is somewhat idiotic. Water will get trapped and end up on the floor. See photos. Once closed, you have to manually organize the pleats or you will have a lumpy umbrella when reinserting it into the included cover. I would recommend this product to a friend with "caution". I expected better from Totes.

Important suggestion

These are the greatest, I've had several EXCEPT that the velcro tab always hangs down in front of you as you walk holding the contour of the grip correctly in your hand. It is really annoying and looks dopey. Sew the tab toward the back of the umbrella.

Totes-ally my favorite!

Love this umbrella. Have bought it multiple times and each time it's lasts a good few years. Living in NYC, the weather can vary sometimes so it's nice to have a strong umbrella for those torrential downpours. Auto open and close is a great plus.
