Help!

I received the lap table and had to assemble the unit. The directions were clear enough and I had little difficulty. But when I pressed the lever to raise the table and then lower it to my disired chair height the unit got, and is, stuck in the highest position. I called the help number in the directions and the representative said they would call the manufacturer. I haven’t heard anything from them so far. I hope that Macy’s will prod the manufacturer to return my complaint.
