My Go To Roadrunner

I bought this knife one year ago and could not be happier. I have quality forged knives but decided I wanted to try a utility-size stamped blade by Zwilling. I am a rural home cook who spends many hours in the kitchen preparing meals, canning and putting up food from harvesting and fishing. My hands are small so it functions as my utiltiy/chef knife. The blade and handle size and shape as well as the light weight ... all calculate into a very efficient knife for so many of my needs. It is easy to keep sharp. I can use it all day and my hand never tires.

Great prep knife

This is a really premium stamped knife. It looks a lot like the Zwilling Pro, and it has been ice-hardened like the Pro, which will help give the Gourmet prep extra durability and sharpness than most stamped knives. A great starter knife; with the prep, it’s a very versatile knife, with the smaller blade, you can still chop and cut with it on a cutting board like it’s a chef knife.

Stamped prep knife

Stamped vs. forged. Stamped uses the same great stainless steel, without the added weight of a forged knife. Lighter may be better. Definately a personal preference. Either way the 5" prep is a great size and shape. Extremely useful.

good utlilty

Excellent size and shape for long, leaner fruits and vegetables. This is the knife I pick up for slicing eggplant and zucchini for a vegetable gratin. Light weight and sharp yet feels solid and balanced in your hand. I like the detail in the handle. Good utlility

smaller than chef knife!

Great size prepping food knife, neither too small or too big it is comfortable in my hand. Perfect size and comfortable cutting foods. It's narrower and smaller than 8" chef knife but it is a very useful to have and less maintenance.

Gourmet Go To

This Gourmet prep knife is perfect in-between knife. The size permits use as a paring/utility knife for something small, while the wider heel of blade allows for chopping something larger on the cutting board. German made, light weight with a traditional three-riveted handle.

Sweet Prep Knife

This handy prep knife is super sharp and takes care of daily cutting needs with ease. Need to cut a sandwich in half, easy. Need to slice fruit for lunch or snacks, or vegetables for salad? This is an extremely popular knife for those tasks when you don't want to pull out a chef's knife. The Gourmet line is a very good line of stamped knives. They are manufactured under tight controls and precise standards at Zwilling’s factory in Solingen, Germany. They have a full tang, running from the tip to the heel of the handle making these knives sturdy and stable. The comfortable handle is solid without being heavy. Because the composition of the steel, this prep knife will stay sharp and responsive with every cut. Keep the blade honed, sharpen once or twice a year and you will enjoy it each time you use them. Dishwasher safe, but hand wash to keep it looking new.
